What You'll Do:
This position is responsible for completing written system analysis and design task that are technical in nature and in full scope of requirements. Develop and modify computer programs using IDEAL and COBOL of the highest of complexity; preparing JCL (or other operating control language) as required, test data for unit and system testing.
Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Performs technical systems analysis task.
• Testing and debugging programs.
• Coding and modifying programs.
• Participating in system testing.
• Performing user requirements systems analysis tasks.
• Reviewing, discussing and comprehending assignments with project leader.
• Documenting programs.
• Assisting Application Developers with assignments, technical tasks, and training.
• Attend status meetings. |

The paralegal works under limited supervision of the Assistant Administrator/Legal Counsel in preparing of complex legal reports/documents. Determines appropriate method/procedure for completing assigned research projects. Some authority in prioritizing daily work activities. Performs major paralegal work with the Member Services Division which includes local board disability benefit decisions as well as reviews of Qualified Domestic Relations Orders, Powers of Attorney, Survivor benefits and Income Withholding Orders related to Child Support all with respect to pension benefits. Additional work product includes completion of complex legal documents/reports; and completed complex legal research projects/investigations related to benefit determinations including disability decision and return-to-work documentation compliance with statute and IRS regulations. As PSPRS issues monthly pension payments for its members, the Paralegal is responsible for timely and accurate completion of assigned work projects, with a very high level of quality. |

It is responsible for the oversight as well as project coordination related to policy development and research including administrative rules, federal and state regulations, and contracts to ensure compliance of policies found in the AHCCCS Contractor Policy Manual (ACOM) and the AHCCCS Medical Policy Manual (AMPM). This position is also responsible for providing technical assistance to internal staff, Contractors, and stakeholders, including policy interpretation. In addition to policy work this position will be assisting the Contract and Policy Administrator of the Unit with the development of Managed Care Request for Proposals including projects which may include complete project coordination, organizing and running meetings for various work groups and tracking work progress. |
