The Internal Audit and Policy Manager Designs and independently executes the Department's internal compliance audit. This position will audit and focus on the Department's compliance with rules, statutes, the AZ Tribal-State Gaming Compact, Department policy, and statewide policy. This position will report findings and make recommendations to Department leadership. The Internal Audit and Policy Manager will manage the Department's internal policies by helping draft them, ensuring they are signed and acknowledged by the appropriate personnel, and organizing them in digital format. This position serves as a Department liaison with external assurance providers / auditors when external audits and reviews are conducted. Organizes and tracks progress with respect to the findings and recommendations from external auditors.

Becoming a Healthcare Compliance Registered Nurse with the Arizona Department of Health Services will enable you to perform work corresponding to the activities within the Division of Public Health Licensing Services, specifically the Bureau of Medical Facility Licensing’s Home Health and Hospice team. As a Healthcare Compliance Officer, you can expect to transition your patient-care experience into a high-impact regulatory role as you learn and develop expertise in: Assisting with or determining the issuing of licenses to licensed facilities and providers, and maintaining current licenses by ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. Performing, assisting, or reviewing detailed investigative or inspection reports. Formulating statements of deficiencies and correspondence regarding changes in the status of a licensee’s License or other types of legal orders.

This position reports to the Technological Hazards Branch Manager/Radiological Emergency Preparedness (REP) Program Manager. This position also guides and supports two Radiological Emergency Preparedness Coordinators that support all off-site operations. This position is also responsible for supporting the REP Program Manager in the administration of the Radiological Emergency Preparedness Program for the Division. Also provides support in developing, implementing, and maintaining emergency response and recovery capabilities for a major incident at a commercial nuclear power plant. Provides support for the development, implementation and maintenance of the State of Arizona/Maricopa County Emergency Response Plan for the Palo Verde Generating Station. Actively participates in promoting a continuous improvement workplace culture, through the use of teamwork, root cause problem solving, standard operating procedures, and review of performance metrics.
