This position serves as a chief or head of an epidemiology program unit within an Office and is responsible for overall management and supervision of the program and assigned personnel. As a Management Senior Scientist/Epidemiologist, performs supervisory and advanced professional analytical work in surveillance, detection, and prevention of diseases and injuries. Oversees and conducts advanced-level professional epidemiologic work. Supervises and directs the work activities of subordinate staff involved in epidemiological investigations; develops disease identification, surveillance and control systems; maintains ongoing disease reporting systems; provides technical advice and assistance to local health departments, healthcare partners and the public. Reviews and conducts literature reviews and data analyses. Develops and evaluates methods of training for health care providers and staff. Reviews work products or achievements of subordinate workers; evaluates work and formulates plans for improvements. Formulates policies, procedures. Develops and provides scientific and clinical advice and technical assistance to communities and outside partners with respect to surveillance and other epidemiologic data and evaluation. Participates in after-hours activities including partner meetings, investigation, outbreak and emergency response as needed. Participates in writing grants and other funding proposals. Employee will be expected to make independent decisions and judgements based on their professional education, programmatic experience and training; this position maintains and shares information and data of a very confidential nature.

Coordinate and perform related rescue, first aid, and property conservation. Includes fires or potential fires involving structures, wildland, aircraft, missiles and separate component weapons or other materials. Perform operations and operator maintenance of all types of firefighting and related rescue vehicles, equipment systems, and devices in support of overall base emergency contingency operations. A 48/96-hour shift type work schedule will be followed, (2 days on shift/4 days off shift). Overtime may be required depending on mission requirements. Position may require temporary relocation to serve at other Arizona Army National Guard fire stations. Actively participates in promoting a continuous improvement workplace culture, through the use of teamwork, root cause problem solving, standard operating procedures, and review of performance metrics.
ORDNANCE INSPECTOR BELLEMONT, CAMP VERDE, FLAGSTAFF, PRESCOTT, WILLIAMS
The Ordnance Inspector provides technical oversight for all explosives operations conducted at Camp Navajo on a variety of ammunition and explosives (A&E) ranging from large rocket motors to conventional small arms. Works under the supervision of a federal Quality Assurance Specialist, Ammunition Surveillance (QASAS) to ensure established explosive safety principles are followed and completes inspections to determine the serviceability, and reliability, of Class V assets in accordance with current standard operating procedures, Department of Defense regulations, customer requirements, Department of the Army regulations, 49 CFR and per specific technical publications for each Class V asset. The incumbent of this position is responsible for quality control, and quality assurance for the ammunition surveillance program, and has the authority to stop any explosive operation that is not in compliance with written regulations, or procedures, or when an unsafe condition is observed. Out-of-state travel is required for certification and training. When required, performs all of the above duties off site in support of customer requirements. Increased customer requirements will/may include the need for Ordnance Inspector to perform specialized oversight of the handling of AA&E such as; disassembly of arm/disarm and safe devices, nozzle removal, exudate cleanup, component installations/removals as specified by customer technical documents. Actively participates in promoting a continuous improvement workplace culture, through the use of teamwork, root cause problem solving, standard operating procedures, and review of performance metrics.
