Under the supervision of the Accounting Supervisor, this position performs high-volume accounting work in support of state and federally funded programs, including those administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Department of the Treasury. This position is responsible for performing financial tasks such as accounts payable and accounts receivable, applying established accounting principles, theories, and practices. The Accountant 2 will review and reconcile financial reports and data, identify and correct discrepancies, and ensure the accuracy and completeness of accounting records and financial statements. The position utilizes the State of Arizona’s Financial Management System (AZ360) and other state financial platforms to retrieve and analyze data, track revenues and expenditures, monitor contract status, and support financial reporting. Additional duties may be assigned as related to the position.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, in Arizona, to include in-office hoteling, based on the department’s business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures. |
