Job Summary/Basic Function
Reporting to the Director of Campus Recreation, the Coordinator Spirit Programs has responsibilities that include the development, administration, oversight, fiscal accountability, marketing and daily programming for the MTSU game day cheerleading/mascot programs. Provide proper instruction in the fundamentals and techniques of cheerleading to the cheer program; coordinate summer camps, stunt clinics, cheerleading/dance workshops and appearances. Monitor department budgets of approximately $85,000 and perform other related duties and special projects as assigned according to Campus Recreation departmental needs.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree required
Required Related Experience
Cheerleader coaching experience at a collegiate level required. Able to provide proper instruction in the fundamentals and techniques of cheerleading to the cheer program; coordinate summer camps, stunt clinics, cheerleading/dance workshops and appearances. Note: occasional travel, extended work hours are required.
Desirable Related Experience
Master's degree preferred.
Desirable License/Registration/Certification
American Association of Cheerleading Coaches & Administrators (AACCA) Safety Course certification
