Louisiana Delta Community College seeks an instructor to teach students in the Diesel-Powered Equipment Technology program. The Diesel Technology Instructor will prepare individuals for employment in the field of diesel-powered equipment diagnosis and repair. The instructor will provide specialized classroom instruction and practical shop experience to prepare individuals to engage in the service and maintenance of all types of diesel-powered equipment at the entry level. The instructor will prepare individuals to select, safely use, and maintain hand and power tools, jacks, and hoisting equipment. Other topics include the diagnostics of malfunctions and the repair of engines; fuel, electrical, cooling, HVAC systems, and brake systems; and drive train and suspension systems.

This position works with SOWELA students to help improve their technical skills and critical learning skills. This position also assists students in improving academic achievement, supports students by reviewing and clarifying learning problems, and provides useful study skills to students that need supplemental help. Other assistance might include reviewing class material, discussing text, reviewing test questions, generating ideas for papers, or working on solutions to problems.
