This is a part-time adjunct position on the Main Campus in Lake Charles. The School of Business and Applied Technology offers an AAS in Accounting Technology. The Adjunct Instructor – Accounting conducts college-level, transferrable courses in the discipline area of Accounting while developing and designing curriculum plans that foster learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensure student engagement. This Adjunct Instructor is responsible for preparing and delivering lectures on the Main Campus in Lake Charles, online, and/or in hybrid situations, creating a learning environment, and assessing student learning. The Adjunct Instructor – Accounting maintains accurate grade and attendance records, and individual student progress data, and ensures this is a part of the student’s permanent record; adheres to all laws pertaining to disclosure of student records; posts at the office and on the syllabus, on-campus and/or virtual hours to facilitate interaction with students, other faculty, staff administrators, and the public. The Adjunct Instructor – Accounting must be available to students via email, phone, and/or in-person conference, and may mentor other staff or students.
Instructor - Chief Flight Instructor	SOWELA	Lake Charles, LA
The Chief Flight Instructor manages and oversees all flight training operations within SOWELA Technical Community College’s 14 CFR Part 61 and 141 flight programs. This position is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of flight instruction, safety, compliance, and student success. The Chief Flight Instructor assists in supervising flight instructors, conducting evaluations, ensuring adherence to FAA and institutional standards, and providing direct flight and ground instruction to students pursuing Private, Instrument, Commercial, and Instructor certificates and ratings. This position contributes to SOWELA’s mission to cultivate a highly skilled aviation workforce for Southwest Louisiana and supports the College’s Strategic Plan priorities of Workforce Development, Adult Learners, and Special Populations.
MVI Challenge Station-Automotive Technician	BRCC	Baton Rouge, LA
The Workforce MVI Challenge Station-Automotive Technician reports directly to the Dean of Technical Studies and Adult Education. The technician is responsible for testing vehicle emissions for residents in the five LDEQ service areas and will assist with testing procedures for motor vehicle inspection station personnel using the emissions inspection software. The technician will also be responsible for the day-to-day operation, including scheduling appointments, testing vehicles, reporting test outcomes and providing excellent customer service.

Faculty are expected to support the institution’s mission and vision and abide by the Faculty Handbook and college-wide policies. Faculty report directly to program managers and department chairs within their respective departments and divisions. This position will monitor students in the clinical areas, teach theory in classroom, and demonstrate clinical skills in the simulation laboratory. Additional responsibilities include assessing courses, serving on college committees, participating in extracurricular activities, community service, and professional development. Faculty may be required to teach evenings and weekends as well as on-line, dual enrollment, and service learning courses.

The supervisor is responsible for the staff of Facilities Maintenance who perform maintenance service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, HVAC, and other machine and electrical servicing for SOWELA. The supervisor is also responsible for planning, coordinating, and performing specialized facilities management services, while ensuring the campus buildings, grounds, systems, equipment, and supplies are maintained. The scope of work includes completing preventative maintenance schedules as well as restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts. Creating and delivering reports, presentations, trainings, and other communication are essential functions.
