This position is integral to supporting adult learners by guiding them through their educational journeys, helping them overcome obstacles, and ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills to succeed. The Adult Education Specialist will also be cross-trained to support all department areas and perform other tasks as needed, contributing to the overall success and flexibility of the adult education program.

The Adjunct Adult Education Instructor will provide instructional services to adults and youths who are out of school in basic skills such as reading, writing, and mathematics. Responsible for increasing the students’ educational functioning level and preparing students to obtain their high school equivalency diploma and/or industry-based credentials (IBC) to secure entry-level employment or advance in their current occupation. NOTE: This position is a grant funded position, and the continuation of the position is dependent upon funding availability. Continuation is based on the program meeting state and federal benchmarks.

Nursing faculty are responsible for teaching courses as assigned, student advising, college service, professional development and promotion of collegial atmosphere. Faculty are expected to support the institution’s mission and vision and abide by the Faculty Handbook and college-wide policies. Faculty report directly to program managers and department chairs within their respective departments and divisions. This position will monitor students in the clinical areas, teach theory in classroom, and demonstrate clinical skills in the simulation laboratory. Additional responsibilities include assessing courses, serving on college committees, participating in extracurricular activities, community service, and professional development. Faculty may be required to teach evenings and weekends as well as on-line, dual enrollment, and service learning courses.
