Duties and Responsibilities: Lay out bunker gear, SCBAs, clean masks for use, run pump and smoke machine in preparation for classes, have fire props ready for each group, keep an eye on all students for any sign of heat exhaustion, hand out gear for each practical, sanitize helmets, gloves and boots, wash and dry bunker gear, gloves, and nomex hoods, organize fire shed by putting things in their place, document extinguishers used to be sent to be filled, layout immersion suits, life jackets, and coveralls, inflate raft, check temperature of pool, wash and dry coveralls, turn immersion suits inside out to dry, rinse PFDs, organize the rigging equipment, document crane usage, inspect lifeboats and davits, pump water out of the lifeboats, prepare pool and equipment, check lifeboat securing, place lifeboat davit in stowed position, and/or miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Required Experience: This is an entry level position designed to assist a student in developing and strengthening skills related to employment.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
Passing pre-employment criminal background screen is required as a condition of employment.
