The Surgical Technology Instructor is responsible for teaching Surgical Technology courses at the postsecondary level (but at less than the baccalaureate) to students who have graduated high school or earned a GED. Responsible for duties such as preparing and delivering lectures, leading and moderating classroom discussions, facilitating online activities and communication, administering and grading examinations and assignments, and clinical/lab responsibilities. Demonstrates and teaches surgical patient care techniques in the classroom, simulation laboratory, and clinical sites to surgical technology students. The incumbent is a subject matter expert in surgical technology practices with knowledge of professional scope and standards of practice.
