| This position serves from within the School of Industrial Technology as a representative exhibiting positive and professional attributes of collegiate instruction in the eyes of faculty, staff, students, and the local community. The primary role of each instructor at SOWELA Technical Community College is to teach in discipline areas in which the instructor has specific training and competence. As such, the instructor is expected to plan, organize, and teach in a manner that encourages collaborative teamwork and ethical values aligning with the school’s mission, vision, and institutional values. | The instructor will present specific Math course content with summary assessment of student ability to retain and apply the information in an academic setting. An instructor is responsible for classroom preparation for lectures and labs, proctoring of exams, advising students, and registration. Instructional responsibilities of the equivalent of a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester with developmental math courses composing part to all of the primary course load; 10 office hours per week; an additional 15 hours per week spent in activities such as, participation in advising and registration; participation in developmental activities, including curriculum development and review; and participation in committee assignments as determined by the Chair of the mathematics department or other college administrators. Assigned classes may include night and/or Saturday venues at any of the Delgado campuses. |
