The Director of Workforce Initiatives provides leadership and oversight for customized workforce training projects and business development strategies aimed at upskilling the regional workforce. This position serves as the primary point of contact for employer-sponsored training initiatives and grant-funded programs, ensuring accurate data entry, reporting, and compliance. The Director manages project timelines, supervises personnel delivering customized training, and fosters strong partnerships with employers and community stakeholders to support economic development and talent pipelines.
Coordinator - Safety and Security	SOWELA	Oakdale, LA
The position will provide a full range of safety and security services with a primary emphasis on enforcing campus laws, protecting the College personnel, protecting state property, investigating campus crimes and accidents, providing emergency assistance, security campus facilities, conducting active foot and mobile patrols, enforcing parking and traffic regulations, working with local law enforcement in liaison with other Security/Facilities personnel on all emergency issues. The incumbent shall develop and maintain positive public relations with students, faculty, staff and administrators, and patrons.
TRiO Student Support Services Navigator	South Louisiana Community College	Opelousas, LA
South Louisiana Community College (SoLAcc) seeks a TRiO Student Success Navigator to join the federally funded TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program. The Navigator will serve as a guide and success coach for program participants from admission to completion, ensuring students have the academic, career, financial literacy, personal, and learning support necessary for persistence and graduation. The Navigator will carry an assigned caseload of TRIO SSS participants, providing individualized holistic advising, proactive interventions, and developmental programming. In collaboration with the Project Director, they will help ensure the TRIO SSS program meets federally mandated goals and performance objectives, while advocating for the success of first-generation, low-income, and students with documented disabilities. The SSS program is domiciled at the Opelousas Campus and serves students across multiple campuses, including Ville Platte, Crowley, Abbeville, St. Martinville, New Iberia, Franklin, Morgan City, and Lafayette.

The Process Technology instructor serves from within the School of Industrial Technology as a representative exhibiting positive and professional attributes of collegiate instruction in the eyes of faculty, staff, students, and the local community. The primary role of each instructor at SOWELA Technical Community College is to teach in discipline areas in which the instructor has specific training and competence. As such, the instructor is expected to plan, organize, and teach in a manner that encourages collaborative teamwork and ethical values aligning with the school’s mission, vision and institutional values. The position also promotes and directs successful student learning in keeping with the learning centered values and strategic goals of SOWELA Technical Community College.
