| This position is grant funded by WIOA Title II – Adult Education Grant and administered through SOWELA Technical Community College. As a key member of the SOWELA WorkReady U Adult Education Program, the Adult Education (WorkReadyU) Instructor—Transition Coordinator is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality instruction in Adult Basic Education (ABE) and Adult Secondary Education (ASE) to prepare eligible adult learners—including out-of-school youth age 16 and older for the high school equivalency test (GED or HiSET), postsecondary education, and workforce readiness. This position supports the mission of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Title II by integrating academic instruction with digital literacy, career pathways, and employability skills to promote learner success and self-sufficiency.
In addition to instructional duties, the Transition Coordinator component of the role provides individualized transition planning, academic and career advising, and resource navigation to support students as they move from adult education into higher education, training programs, or employment. The position collaborates closely with faculty, workforce partners, and college departments to ensure seamless transitions and sustained student progress toward educational and career goals. |

| This is a full-time, nine-month position beginning in January 2026. The School of Business and Applied Technology offers an AAS in Accounting. The Instructor – Accounting conducts college-level, transferrable courses in the discipline area of accounting while developing and designing curriculum plans that foster learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensure student engagement. This Instructor is responsible for preparing and delivering lectures online, on-ground, and/or in hybrid situations, creating a learning environment, and assessing student learning. The Instructor – Accounting maintains accurate grade and attendance records, and individual student progress data, and ensures this is a part of the student’s permanent record; adheres to all laws about disclosure of student records; posts at the office and on the syllabus, on-campus and/or virtual hours to facilitate interaction with students, other faculty, staff administrators, and the public. The Instructor – Accounting must be available to students via email, phone, and/or in-person conference, and may mentor other staff or students. The teaching load for Instructor – Accounting is 15 credit hours. Overload courses may be available.
The Instructor – Accounting is knowledgeable and familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. This position relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals while performing a variety of tasks. The Instructor – Accounting may lead and direct the work of others; a certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This position engages in professional development and stays current in technological and/or pedagogical advances that promote student learning. |
