The CDL instructor will report to the Workforce Director of Operations. The CDL instructor provides classroom instruction and behind the wheel training at one of the four SOWELA locations in preparation for the Commercial Driver's License (Class A) examination. In addition to providing professional supervised training to new and existing drivers, this role is responsible for implementing safety and compliance measures according to Federal Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and procedures. |

The instructor will present specific Computer Networking, Programming, and Information Technology course content covering both theoretical and practical aspects of computer science, with a focus on networking, programming, and IT principles with summary assessment of student ability to retain and apply the information in an academic setting. An instructor is responsible for classroom preparation for lectures and labs, proctoring of exams, advising students, and registration. Instructors are also required to serve on College committees. Instructors may be required to mentor and advise new faculty. Instructors are required to be available to teach at all Delgado sites and to teach at all scheduled times Delgado offers courses. The instructor will adhere to all duties as described in the, “Workload Requirements for Full-Time Faculty”, “Job Descriptions for Instructional Faculty”, “Faculty Responsibilities Beyond the Classroom”, “Responsibilities of Faculty Regarding Classroom Expectations, Instructional Minutes, and Evaluation of Instruction and/or Other Responsibilities”, and “Responsibilities of Faculty Regarding Evaluation of Students” policies of Delgado Community College. |

Posts at office and on the syllabus, on-campus hours to facilitate interaction with students, other faculty, staff administrators and the public. Be available to students via email, phone and/or in person conference. May mentor other staff or students. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Receives training or stays current in technological or pedagogical advances that promote student learning. |
