Adjunct Instructor - Adult Education (WorkReadyU) (Lamar Salter)	SOWELA	Leesville, LA
This position is grant funded by WIOA Title II – Adult Education Grant and administered through SOWELA Technical Community College. As a key member of the SOWELA WorkReady U Adult Education Program, the Adult Education (WorkReadyU) Instructor—Transition Coordinator is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality instruction in Adult Basic Education (ABE) and Adult Secondary Education (ASE) to prepare eligible adult learners—including out-of-school youth age 16 and older for the high school equivalency test (GED or HiSET), postsecondary education, and workforce readiness. This position supports the mission of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Title II by integrating academic instruction with digital literacy, career pathways, and employability skills to promote learner success and self-sufficiency. In addition to instructional duties, the Transition Coordinator component of the role provides individualized transition planning, academic and career advising, and resource navigation to support students as they move from adult education into higher education, training programs, or employment. The position collaborates closely with faculty, workforce partners, and college departments to ensure seamless transitions and sustained student progress toward educational and career goals.
Instructor - Aviation Maintenance Technology	SOWELA	Lake Charles, LA
Committed to program excellence and student success. Using various instructional techniques, approved maintenance practices, and the FAA Airman Certification Standards (ACS), teach students how to inspect, maintain, and repair aircraft and helicopter systems. Responsible for adhering to guidance and legal requirements from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE), and other accreditation authorities, to maintain certification as an FAA 14 CFR Part 147 maintenance school. Prepares relevant and engaging lesson plans, presentations, and assessments ensuring students of various learning styles successfully complete the FAA A & P certification.

The instructor is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating high-quality instruction in the fundamental principles and practices of horticulture. This role prepares students for entry-level careers in the field through a combination of theoretical knowledge and hands-on application. Instructional topics include, but are not limited to, plant identification, propagation techniques, landscape maintenance, and relevant horticultural laws and regulations.
