Regional Supervisor for Massachusetts Probation Service - Region 2 Boston
The Regional Supervisor of Probation Services (RSPS) serves as the direct liaison between the Office of the Commissioner of Probation and local probation offices, justices, and clerks within the various court departments. The RSPS, under the general supervision of the Commissioner of Probation and his/her designee, assists in the oversight and supervision of probation personnel through on-site evaluative audits and ongoing communication. The RSPS is directly responsible for ensuring that chief probation officers and other probation personnel comply with existing statutes, best evidence-based practices, as well as with all Probation and Trial Court policies and procedures. The RSPS, whose office shall be located within their assigned region, shall perform, or participate in a variety of administrative functions, including hiring, personnel assignments, the development of programs, research, the training of staff, technical assistance, the review of probation reports and data, and the general oversight the region's probation offices. Regular court visits and contact with field staff shall occur at the direction of the Deputy Commissioner of Field Services.
