The VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) and Stanford University invite nuclear medicine physicians to apply to join its full-time faculty in the University Medical Line or Clinician Educator Line at Stanford University School of Medicine. This is an open rank search. Rank, Line, and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Physicians with MD or MD/PhD degree(s) or equivalent will be considered. The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the University Medical Line are excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. The major criterion for appointment for Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care and clinical teaching appropriate to the programmatic need that the individual is expected to fulfill. The VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) consists of three inpatient divisions located at Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and Livermore, in addition to seven Community Based Outpatient Clinics. VAPAHCS has 833 operating beds, which include 100 acute care beds located at the Palo Alto division. VAPAHCS provides a full range of patient care services with state-of-the-art technology, as well as education and research. Comprehensive health care is provided through primary, tertiary, and long-term care in areas of medicine, surgery, psychiatry, physical medicine and rehabilitation, neurology, oncology, dentistry, geriatrics, and extended care. VAPAHCS is also home to one of the most advanced educational simulation centers in the VA network. The imaging services recently opened a new building with all new modalities, including a PET/MRI.
