The Division of Infectious Diseases and Geographic Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Stanford University and the Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS), seek an Academic Director of Hospital Epidemiology to join the division as Assistant or Associate Professor in the University Medical Line. Applicants must have an MD or equivalent medical degree, current eligibility/certification with the American Board of Internal Medicine and in the specialty of Infectious Diseases. We are particularly interested in candidates with Epidemiology experience in Healthcare Systems and research interests in Infection Control and Healthcare Epidemiology. The ability or promise for conducting biosurveillance and facilitating Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) programs are highly desired. |

The Department of Medicine at the Stanford University School of Medicine is recruiting a Division Chief of Infectious Diseases and Geographic Medicine for an academic appointment as Clinical Associate or Clinical Professor in the Clinician Educator Line or as Associate or Professor of Medicine in the University Medical Line or University Tenure Line at Stanford University School of Medicine. The Chief is expected to lead the research, clinical, and educational activities of the Division. We are seeking a candidate who combines proven leadership skills with an outstanding record of academic accomplishment; dedication to excellence in the clinical, research, and educational missions; an understanding of the complexity of academic medicine; and the creative vision to help grow and maintain a premier Division of Infectious Diseases and Geographic Medicine. Established and emerging leaders in the field are highly encouraged to apply. Candidates should be accomplished physician investigators with a national/international reputation. Candidates should hold an MD or MD/PhD degrees or equivalent and be Board Certified in Infectious Diseases. Candidates will need to possess or be willing to obtain a California Medical License. The Chief will be expected to recruit additional faculty as needed to support both laboratory and clinical research and to expand the clinical enterprise. The Chief is also expected to strengthen the fellowship program and to increase its focus on the research opportunities so prevalent at Stanford. |
