What you will be doing in this role

Are you an Assistant in Nursing currently working in aged care and ready to take the next step into acute care? This is your opportunity to transition into a hospital environment with the support, training and encouragement you need to succeed.

Joining our dedicated medical and surgical teams, you will be supported through a structured Transition to Acute Care Program designed specifically for AINs looking to expand their clinical skills and build confidence in a fast-paced hospital setting. Whether you are looking to grow your career, learn new skills or experience a different area of healthcare, we will support you every step of the way.

In this role, you will work under the guidance of experienced Registered and Enrolled Nurses to deliver safe, compassionate and person-centred care. You will assist patients with daily living activities, mobility support and comfort, while developing your knowledge and experience caring for patients in an acute hospital environment.

You will also play an important role in monitoring and reporting changes in patient conditions, contributing to clinical documentation and working collaboratively within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Who we’re looking for

To be successful in this role you will be a dedicated Assistant in Nursing who sees this as a long-term career pathway not a short-term position while pursuing other qualifications  

  • Must hold a Certificate III in Health Services Assistance, Certificate III Individual Support or a Certificate IV Ageing Support.
  • Have the availability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week on a rotating roster covering 7 days a week including morning, evening and night shifts.
  • Prior experience in providing direct care, ideally within a hospital, aged care, disability or rehabilitation setting
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, a compassionate approach, and a commitment to teamwork.
  • Have an interest in nursing best practice with an understanding of policies to ensure confidentiality, dignity, respect and the rights of patients are upheld.
  • Full Australian work rights (we do not offer sponsorship)
