SC State University is seeking an innovative and dynamic leader to spearhead South Carolina State University's alumni engagement initiatives as the Director of Alumni Affairs and Engagement. This pivotal role will be instrumental in fostering lifelong connections between the University and its esteemed alumni community.

As the Director of Alumni Affairs and Engagement, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy that aligns with the University's mission and vision. Your primary focus will be to cultivate meaningful relationships with alumni, promote their involvement in various university events and activities, and facilitate opportunities for networking, mentorship, and career development.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a strategic plan to enhance alumni engagement, increase alumni participation, and strengthen the alumni network.
2. Event Management: Oversee the planning and execution of alumni events, including reunions, homecomings, regional gatherings, and networking opportunities.
3. Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and manage a dedicated team of alumni volunteers to support various initiatives and events.
4. Communication and Marketing: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute effective communication strategies, leveraging various channels to keep alumni informed and engaged.
5. Fundraising Support: Work closely with the development team to identify and cultivate opportunities for alumni giving and support.
6. Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date alumni records, ensuring effective data management and analysis for targeted outreach efforts.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in alumni relations, higher education administration, or related fields.
- Proven track record of successful event planning and execution.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and project management abilities.
- Proficiency in utilizing technology and data management systems.
