Job Description:
The Program Manager for Student-Athlete Support Services oversees academic support services for sports teams assigned by the Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Experience. The Program Manager works closely with student-athletes in the review of class scheduling, tutoring, or study skill needs, communicates as needed with appropriate coaching staff regarding student-athlete advising, academic and athletic eligibility issues. The Program Manager will also work cooperatively with professional college advisers, the coordinator of athletic eligibility, and Compliance to help ensure student-athlete progress-toward-degree completion according to NCAA, MAC and University of Toledo guidelines.
In addition, the position will have the responsibility of managing the SASS tutorial program, the student worker program, and the intern/graduate assistantship program.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: master’s degree required. A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of previous experience around student development, teaching, collegiate athletics and/or academic support services.
Preferred Qualifications: Successful candidates will demonstrate the following skills and abilities: exceptional organizational and time management skills; the ability to work independently; demonstrate initiative and self-motivation; ability to understand and successfully attain project goals and initiatives; ability and initiative to work with a diverse group of student-athletes. Managing at-risk programs and creating training for academic strategy coaches and tutors is a plus
