The Postdoctoral Research Fellow serves as an independent researcher or collaborator on a research program. This role may lead discrete components of a larger project under the general direction of the Principal Investigator and is responsible for experimental design, data interpretation, manuscript preparation, and dissemination of results.

Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily in a biomedical research laboratory, animal research facilities, and office environment. The position routinely involves handling biological specimens, infectious agents, laboratory chemicals, reagents, and specialized research equipment. Compliance with institutional biosafety, chemical safety, and animal care regulations is required.
The position requires frequent use of laboratory equipment such as biosafety cabinets, centrifuges, microscopes, PCR instruments, flow cytometers, imaging systems, tissue culture facilities, freezers, and computers for data analysis and scientific writing. Extended periods of standing, walking, sitting, computer use, and repetitive hand movements associated with laboratory procedures are common.
The position requires the ability to lift and transport laboratory supplies, equipment, and materials weighing up to 25 pounds. Work may involve occasional evening or weekend hours to accommodate experimental timelines, data collection, conference presentations, or project deadlines. The environment is collaborative and research-intensive, requiring the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet established milestones.
