Job Description:
Under general supervision of the Manager, Electrical Maintenance, performs skilled repairs on all electrical instruments and control equipment or systems and components, including the 12,470-volt substation and associated loop system. Performs necessary maintenance on outdoor site lighting and assists with the testing of the generators and associated reporting. Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on all building systems and components. The incumbent is responsible for meeting work schedules, service request, preparing work orders, and ordering necessary parts by providing efficient maintenance workmanship and leadership. Oversee the one-the-job training of apprentice(s).
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must possess a High School diploma or equivalent GED.
• Department of Labor or equivalent journeyman Electrician certificate or associate degree or technical school certificate and five (5) or more years related experience.
• Knowledge of related building codes required.
• Knowledge of general maintenance and general repair practices of building components
• Must be able to bend, stand, kneel, climb ladders and stairs and perform manual work that requires dexterity.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and must be insurable under UT driving policies.
• May be required to lift 50 pounds.
