University Safety Operations Manager

As the university safety operations manager, you will continually manage the Savannah Safety Operations Center (SSOC) operations, the employees working within the SSOC, and provides on-duty operational oversight for the university as it relates to the private security contractor for the SCAD Savannah location. You will train SSOC employees, retrieve camera footage for use in court testimony, and testify in criminal proceedings when necessary. You will also utilize various campus safety and crime analysis software to prepare weekly crime reports, direct contract security resources, and respond to and coordinate resources during critical incidents.
This position is identified as essential personnel in the university's emergency and disaster response plans. In the event of a university closure or evacuation, all essential personnel shall report.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of two years of related management experience in security/safety, law enforcement, or military
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
Ability to think critically and quickly, assess evolving situations, identify the root cause to problems, and adjust plans to ensure success
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in event planning and crisis management
Experience interfacing and collaborating with peers, law enforcement, and emergency services
Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
Valid driver’s license
Travel Required:
Less than 10%
Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.

University Safety Operations Center Specialist

As the university safety operations center specialist, you will direct and dispatch campus safety patrol officers to areas of concerns and calls for service. You will monitor intrusion alarms, retrieve camera footage for use in court testimony, and testify in criminal proceedings when necessary. You will also utilize basic crime analysis software to assist in the deployment of field personnel and manage campus transportation requests.
This position is identified as essential personnel in the university's emergency and disaster response plans. In the event of a university closure or evacuation, all essential personnel shall report.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma
Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts
Preferred Qualifications:
At least one year of experience in a public safety, military command, or a dispatch center

Valid driver's license

10–20%

Interpreter, ASL

As an interpreter, you will provide high quality and accurate interpreting and/or transliterating services while upholding the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) Code of Professional Conduct. You will participate in team meetings, work in collaboration with fellow interpreters, and complete annual goals in a timely manner. You will also submit timesheets accurately and on time; promptly respond to all communications from the coordinating team using a SCAD email; and respectfully communicate with students, colleagues, and supervisors.
