Group Fitness Instructor Richmond Campus
A group fitness instructor will lead weekly group fitness classes in multiple formats. They must be willing to participate in Campus Recreation special events, sub for other instructors as needed, or lead private classes as requested. Instructors will have the opportunity to be creative, and must be willing to learn and able to work autonomously under little direct supervision. Instructors are responsible for the well-being of their class members and must be willing to interact socially with participants, making them feel welcome. Along with leading classes, instructors are required to participate in monthly team meetings/trainings and all-staff Campus Recreation training every semester. Students hired in this position can expect to walk away with skills in: leadership, communication, teamwork, and problem solving. Campus Recreation positions are designed to equip students with transferrable skills beyond graduation. As such, students must accept the position with a willingness to learn, grow, and work in a team atmosphere. The fitness team is currently looking for students who are interested in learning how to teach and lead classes in: dance fitness, yoga, cycle, or other modalities.
