This position is a full-time, permanent position in the Department of Applied Human Sciences at Eastern Kentucky University. The faculty member will be responsible for teaching courses such as socio-cultural hospitality, universal sustainable design, multigenerational programming, global hospitality law, sustainable hospitality, history & culture of wine, and bourbon, beer & spirits. They will also be responsible for scholarly activities and service to the university, community and profession.
This position requires a Master’s degree in hospitality, tourism, a closely related field, or foreign equivalent from an accredited or internationally recognized institution. In addition, applicant must be ABD in a hospitality, tourism, or closely related Ph.D. degree program at an accredited or internationally recognized institution and have a minimum of three months of experience teaching at a university level on the topics of hospitality or tourism. This position is a full-time, permanent position in the Department of English. Secondary expertise in one or more of the following areas is desired: nineteenth century American literature, early American literature or English education. They will teach a 4/4 course load, teaching literature and general education courses, mentoring students, and maintaining an active record of service and scholarship. Faculty may also teach courses in our online MA program in English and Writing Professions (MAEWP). Additionally, they will collaborate with our campus partners, African and African American Studies.
