Assistant Director, Drake Relays - Relays Operations - 997877 Iowa
Drake University is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Drake Relays Director with an emphasis on track and field meet operations. The successful candidate will be responsible, on a year-round basis, for overseeing the logistics and operations of one of the world’s largest annual track and field meets. Key duties include recruiting and managing contract staff, officials, volunteers, and interns, overseeing the entry process for the university, college, and high school divisions of the Drake Relays, and leading all aspects of the Jim Duncan Invitational. This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail especially relating to inventorying supplies and anticipating future needs. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, building positive relationships with internal teammates and successfully serving as the point person for a multitude of external stakeholders, including officials, volunteers, coaches and more. Adjunct Instructor, Mathematics - 200040 Iowa
The Department of Mathematics and Computer science seeks one or two adjunct instructors with the ability to teach either a Calculus 3 course (MW 11:00am – 12:15pm) or a Linear Algebra course (TR 11am – 12:30pm) in the Fall of 2024, and perhaps other courses in subsequent semesters. Successful candidates should have advanced degree in mathematics or course equivalents and prior experience teaching first-year courses or upper-level high school courses. Applicants must have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and incorporate active-learning and best practices in their instruction. All course materials and associated activities will be provided and instructors will be paired with a faculty member for the semester.
Assistant Director, Residence Life, First Year Experience - 998981 Iowa
Drake University believes that the experience students receive from the residence hall program benefits their academic, social, intellectual, and personal growth. The philosophy of Drake University is that student life in the residence halls is not separate from the academic mission of the University, but rather it is supportive of students’ total development. The Assistant Director (AD), First Year Experience will work actively and collaboratively toward the realization of this philosophy serving as a role model, advisor, administrator, supervisor, and supporter. The AD is a twelve month, live-in, master’s degree-level (master’s degree in College Personnel, Higher Education Administration, or related field required) professional who reports to the Associate Director of Residence Life. The AD facilitates the total student life experience in three First Year residence halls with approximately 600 residents. These responsibilities include programming, enforcement of community standards, supervision of undergraduate staff, and management of desk operations. The AD also plays a role in the campus-wide elements of the First Year Experience, including Welcome Weekend, Family Weekend, and Admission’s events.
