Drake Public Safety Officer - 999174 Iowa
The mission of Drake Public Safety is to provide a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff and campus visitors. Drake Public Safety strives to achieve this mission through a community friendly approach that enhances safety through the visibility of Public Safety personnel, preventive patrols, 24-hour accessibility, positive conflict resolution, and crime prevention and awareness programs. Drake Public Safety collaborates with local law enforcement and community organizations in fulfilling its mission. In addition to their role in keeping the campus community safe, Drake Public Safety officers also are trained to assist in medical emergencies and have access to portable defibrillators for use in emergency situations.
Visiting Assistant Professor of Kinesiology Iowa
Drake University’s Kinesiology major is housed within the Biology Department. Our goal is to provide our undergraduate students with a pre-professional curriculum, with a strong emphasis on anatomy and physiology, infused with hands-on and applications-based learning. Many of our students pursue medical-related fields such as physical therapy, general medicine, athletic training; others enter movement-related graduate school programs. The teaching facilities are modern, spacious, and well equipped, including an indoor running track with removable floor tiles for force plates, a motion capture system, and equipment for aerobic and anaerobic capacity testing, allowing faculty to fully integrate lab and practical experiences into their teaching. Although not a requirement for the Visiting Assistant Professor position, faculty may apply for internal funding to support research or travel to conferences. Drake University's Collaborative Science Institute (DUSCI) promotes a culture of collaboration among faculty and students engaged in scientific research at Drake.
Assistant Director, Residence Life, First Year Experience - 998981 Iowa
Drake University believes that the experience students receive from the residence hall program benefits their academic, social, intellectual, and personal growth. The philosophy of Drake University is that the student life in the residence halls is not separate from the academic mission of the University, but rather it is supportive of students' total development. The Assistant Director (AD), First Year Experience will work actively and collaboratively toward the realization of this philosophy serving as a role model, advisor, administrator, supervisor, and supporter. The AD is a twelve month, live-in, master's degree-level (masters in College Personnel, Higher Education Administration, or related field required) professional who reports to the Associate Director of Residence Life. The AD facilitates the total student life experience in three First Year residence halls with approximately 600 residents. These responsibilities include programming, enforcement of community standards, supervision of undergraduate staff, and management of desk operations. The AD also plays a role in the campus-wide elements of the First Year Experience, including Welcome Weekend, Family Weekend, and Admission's events.
Women's Basketball Graduate Assistant - SWBGA1 Iowa
The Women’s Basketball Graduate Assistant will assist staff with practice and competition operations, team travel plans, and on campus recruitment of prospective student-athletes. The Graduate Assistant will also be responsible for assisting with administrative duties and Student-Athlete wellness.
Adjunct Instructor, Teaching and Learning Iowa
The Drake University School of Education – Department of Teaching and Learning invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor in ESL Education. This candidate will be responsible for teaching TESL 125/225: Teaching Literacy to Multilingual Students. This course fulfills requirements for Drake University’s K–12 ESL endorsement and focuses on research-based and culturally responsive literacy instruction for multilingual learners. The successful candidate will teach one section of TESL 125/225 in Fall 2026. The course objectives and syllabus have already been established. The instructor will be responsible for facilitating course activities and projects designed to meet course objectives as well as grading all related coursework. The course is delivered in an online format with required synchronous Zoom sessions.
