Job Summary:

Drake's Zimpleman College of Business seeks an experienced Entrepreneurship Coach to teach entrepreneurship students and mentor and support entrepreneurs participating in our Business Clinic program. This is a fulltime, 12-month position. This position combines teaching and working with students as well as coaching early-stage and growth-focused entrepreneurs to build sustainable and impactful ventures. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in entrepreneurship, business development, or startup support, and be passionate about empowering others through education and coaching.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and/or 2 years of relevant experience.

• At least five years of experience in entrepreneurship and/or consulting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or higher and 3 – 7 years experience preferred.

• Experience working in higher education.

• Experience working with people having diverse backgrounds, working in teams, and working in a matrixed organization.

Job Duties:

  • 40% - Entrepreneurship Instructor • Serve as the instructor of record for two courses in the fall and two courses in the spring. 
  • 20% - Drake Business Clinic Mentor • Provide one-on-one business counseling as needed during and after the participant’s attendance in the Business Clinic. Minimum of four counseling sessions on average per week. • Participate in the Business Clinic as a mentor providing business counseling to participants.
  • 20% - Entrepreneurship Development • Collaborate with entrepreneurship program staff and faculty to support existing center programming and develop new programming. 
  • 15% - Entrepreneurship Student Mentor • Provide one-on-one business mentoring to undergraduate students. 
  • 5% - Other duties as assigned.
