Job Duties:

The Decision Systems Analyst II (Quant/Developer), hereafter, the incumbent, is a skilled and adaptable programming professional with primary responsibilities in the research, creation, validation, and implementation of financial models. The incumbent's responsibilities include coding and maintaining algorithms, and assisting with data analysis, modeling, and quality control. The incumbent will be responsible for analyzing and reporting on model performance results to internal clients. Recommendations and actions of the incumbent will impact the investment team's access to data and information. The Decision Systems Analyst II (Quant/Developer), will influence both the flow of information across the investment program and efficiency and depth of information. To that end, the incumbent's efforts will be a significant ingredient in assisting the investment team's performance.

• Develop and maintain financial algorithms using MATLAB, Python, or similar language.
• Contribute to the development and evaluation of expected return and risk models in support of asset management responsibilities of the internally managed asset teams.
• Work closely with internal teams to understand business needs and technology needed to drive results.
• Identify potential areas for optimization and enhancements including suggestions for the ongoing maintenance and improvement of overall code quality.
• Develop a thorough understanding of investments databases, including the architecture of and data flow between systems.
• Develop and maintain data flow processes including loading and transforming incoming data (ETL), quality control of stored data, and cataloging data sources and repositories.
• Utilize exhaustive testing and debugging skills as part of the development process.
• Develop domain expertise in Investment databases, models, and systems.
• Attend relevant conferences, training seminars, or classes to enhance knowledge of programming languages, investments, and/or investment systems.
• Special projects at the direction of the Research Director - IDS.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, or related field with strong computational emphasis, required; Master’s degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
• Experience with quantitative modeling and technology implementation surrounding investments
• Strong coding experience in MATLAB, R, or Python, and SQL required; other coding languages a plus
• Experience with machine learning, multi-variate regression and similar data analysis techniques
• Enterprise level relational database systems expertise, to include the ability to write efficient and advanced SQL code
• Ability to communicate ideas clearly and work well both independently, and within a team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and experience writing technical documents
• Excellent organizational skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication, and client service skills; ability to work effectively and closely with others

Additional Considerations:

• Specific preferred experiences in SQL Server, data modeling, business intelligence, computational application development, financial engineering, and financial market data
• Experience with reporting and data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI

This position follows the hybrid work model currently requiring three days onsite and two days remote; the selected candidate must be able to work in the office any day of the week as required by the manager.
