The Virginia Employment Commission (VEC) is creating one of the nation’s most trusted Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) programs — and we’re looking for a visionary leader to build the employer‑contribution (premium) function from the ground up. As the Director of Employer Contributions – PFML, you won’t just manage a program: you will design it, launch it, and lead it into long‑term excellence. This is an incredible founding‑director opportunity. You will architect the full employer‑premium lifecycle — registration, wage reporting, premium remittance, audit and compliance, accounts receivable, delinquency, collections, private/voluntary plan oversight, and employer resolution services. You will ensure the PFML Trust Fund is solvent from day one and ready to begin collecting contributions on April 1, 2028, with the first annual premium rate set October 1, 2027.
