Job Duties

This position will assist in the administration of grant coordination, grant accounting functions, and general grant administration and compliance allowing DWR to successfully complete all grant related duties in compliance with all Agency, State and Federal guidelines and policies. It will also support any plans for current, new or improved grant programs and services for DWR

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of grant administration and program analysis with a concentration of federal grant provided by the United States Fish and Wildlife Services (USFWS) and the United States Coast Guard (USCG).

Knowledge of state and federal grant compliance requirements.

Knowledge of public relations and public administration.

Proficiency in the usage of computers and job-related software programs, such as Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with grant tracking and submission solutions, such as ezFedGrants, Grants.gov, and TRACS.

Skilled in public and interpersonal relations and maintaining effective and cooperative working relationships with potential funding sources, Agency staff, and contractors/sub recipients.

Skill in researching and preparing reports.

Skilled in effective oral and written communication, including speaking in front of groups.

Skilled in prioritizing and multi-tasking.

Knowledge of GAAP or GAAS relating to grants.

Knowledge of contract and contract language.

Additional Considerations

Experience in federal and state grants accounting, risk assessments, and reporting responsibilities; familiarity with reimbursement base grants preferred.
Knowledge of Cardinal Financial preferred.
