DCR is hiring! Join us in preserving what people care about most – access to the outdoors, natural habitats, open spaces, clean water, and safe infrastructure. Virginia State Park's Business and Revenue Division is accepting applications for a Retail Business Coordinator.
As a Retail Business Coordinator, you will:
- Serve as the Cash Management Operation Expert.
- Review and update the Cash Management Manual annually.
- Lead annual inventories of merchandise, food, and supplies.
- Conduct audits and provide training on inventory management.
- Provide analysis and recommendations to park managers.
- Oversee statewide retail and food service revenue growth.
- Support park merchandise and food service operations.
- Maintain the Buyer's Guide Process.
- Ensure retail operations align with mission and sustainability goals.
- Develop standard merchandise lines and annual work plans.
- Expand retail offerings and procure statewide merchandise.
- Conduct on-site visits and coordinate the Virginia State Parks Annual Gift Show.
- Attend and coordinate buyers' shows; develop vendor relationships.
- Monitor industry best practices in merchandising, engagement, and loss prevention.
- Develop and implement retail guidelines and training.
- Maintain and update merchandise guidelines and procedures.
- Review procurement policies annually for compliance.

Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to apply and communicate detailed knowledge of operations and inventory management.
- Experience evaluating revenue and expenditures and responding to business fluctuations.
- Experience establishing revenue and profit goals using data and trends.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and retail management software.
- Strong financial forecasting and budgeting skills.
- Experience developing guidelines, rules, and manuals.
- Experience in business administration or equivalent experience
Additional Considerations
- Experience in state park retail management.
- Experience managing multiple retail operations.
- Experience managing online retail.
- Experience with eVA and Microsoft products.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
