This is a wage position limited to working no more than 1,500 hours per agency during the 12-month period of May 1 – April 30, regardless of the hire date. The wage employment period resets on May 1 of the following year. All wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12-month period. The Financial Aid Counselor serves as the student’s primary contact for the Financial Aid Office within their cohort of students. The incumbent will be responsible for reviewing Satisfactory Academic Progress appeals, collecting and reviewing verification documents for completion and accuracy, reviewing professional judgment documentation and performing need analysis. The incumbent will lead University efforts for financial literacy and develop workshops for educational purposes to promote awareness as well as be responsible for default management processes and perform exit counseling requirements for students.
