Job Duties
The Procurement Assistant supports the mission of the College of Agriculture (COA)- Cooperative Extension & Agricultural Research by ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of supplies, services and equipment in accordance with state rules, regulations, policies and procedures in support of the agency's and departments mission and objectives.
The Procurement Assistant assists with procuring goods and services in compliance with all established regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
Working knowledge and skills of the Virginia Procurement system.
The ability to interpret, develop and apply policies, rules and regulations.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
A working knowledge of electronic procurement system(s).
Positive customer service skills.
Additional Considerations
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Preferred experience working with electronic Virginia (eVA) or progressive procurement experience.
Preferred recognized purchasing certification in Virginia Contracting Associate (VCA) or must be able to obtain certification within one year of hire date.
