The Assistant Director of Workforce Development supports the strategic mission of the Workforce Development Department and reports to the External Affairs Division. The Assistant Director of Workforce Development maintains knowledge of regional labor market trends, employer needs, and regional funding priorities to develop and deliver high-quality, relevant training programs. The Assistant Director of Workforce Development provides leadership to the Workforce Training and Development Division and collaborates in providing access to new and expanded workforce training opportunities and designing and delivering comprehensive pathways to employment. This includes but is not limited to (1) personnel management, (2) assisting with budget management, (3) class planning and scheduling, (4) internal and external reporting, (5) data management, and (6) employer relations. The Assistant Director of Workforce Development meets with new and existing businesses and industry leaders with the goal of identifying the need for new programs and new workforce training opportunities, as well as establishing new business and industry partnerships. A key role of this position is staying abreast of emerging and new industries in the region by collaborating with Economic Development Organizations and local and regional government entities. This candidate must also know, or obtain knowledge of, programmatic accreditation/certification to develop and execute a training program. |
