Lifelong Learning Instructor (Temporary Part-Time) Knoxville
Position Summary: Do you have a passion for sharing your expertise, craft or hobby with others? Pellissippi State’s noncredit lifelong learning program offers personal enrichment classes for the community with a wide range of topics, including: fitness, languages, musical instruments, arts and crafts, wellness, history, and more. Class participants are community members ages 18+. Some of the many benefits of teaching a lifelong learning class include working with engaged and enthusiastic adult learners and flexible class scheduling. Our noncredit class schedule is released twice a year: spring/summer and fall. Classes can be as short as 90 minutes or up to 20 hours in length. Individual classes are typically only offered once or twice each semester. To see a list of our current offerings, visit www.pstcc.edu/wcd. Instructors are expected to have a high level of expertise in the subject of their proposed class, and some experience in teaching or training others. While compensation can vary depending on the type of class being offered, noncredit instructors are generally paid starting at either $40 per class hour or 60 percent of total course fees. Lifelong learning instructors work on a temporary, part-time contract. As part of the employment application, please include in your cover letter or as a separate attachment, which topic you have an interest in teaching, your experience in that topic, and a draft outline of the class flow and activities. This is a full-time academic-year (9-month) term faculty position in the Mechatronics Technology program in the Technologies Department. The faculty member is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities. The faculty member is responsible for performing assigned teaching duties during the day, evening, and occasionally on the weekends on any Southwest Tennessee Community College campus as assigned. The Adjunct Instructor in the Early Technical College Diesel Powered Equipment Technology class is responsible for providing in-person theory and hands-on skills instruction to dual-enrolled high school students to prepare them to become Diesel Powered Equipment Technicians. Areas of instruction include preventive maintenance, electrical/electronics, brakes, drive train, suspension and steering, diesel engines and HVAC. This position is part-time and reports to the Clarksville Campus Director. Scheduled work hours are Monday through Friday from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. between August and May each year. Scheduled class hours are 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. This is not a remote work position.
Computer Information Technology- Artificial Intelligence Faculty Franklin, Columbia
A full-time faculty is responsible for delivering instruction in various formats (on-line, in person, video-conferencing, or any combination of methods) in the discipline(s) for which she/he has been employed. Instruction may take place at any of the college’s campuses, at a clinical partner facility, or at a designated temporary location. Faculty also provide academic advising and facilitate student success. Technology tools are routinely used to communicate with and support students. Faculty participate in divisional and institutional activities related to the college’s mission, engage with communities of interest, and promote college programs. This full-time faculty position is pivotal in the development and delivery of our AI courses in the Computer Information Technology Program, working closely with the Director.
