| This is a full-time academic-year (9-month) appointment faculty position reporting to the Department Chair of Technologies. The faculty member is responsible for coordinating, planning, preparing, presenting, and evaluating classroom instruction and related academic activities in the assigned discipline. Teaching responsibilities include foundational and advanced Computer Information Technology topics, including computer hardware and operating systems, networking fundamentals, cybersecurity principles, programming and scripting, database concepts, cloud and virtualization technologies, systems administration, information assurance, and emerging technologies aligned with industry standards and workforce needs.
Primary responsibilities include instruction, instructional counseling, academic advising, curriculum development, student assessment, and participation in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities. The faculty member plays a key role in shaping and maintaining the Computer Information Technology curriculum and integrating hands-on, applied learning experiences into the program.
The faculty member is expected to perform assigned duties during the day, evening, or weekend on any Southwest Tennessee Community College campus. Additional responsibilities include mentoring, serving on departmental and college committees, and participating in local, state, regional, and national professional activities and organizations.
In addition to standard faculty responsibilities, this position includes assigned program coordination duties for the Computer Information Technology program as part of the faculty teaching load. |
