The selected candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate lecture and laboratory courses in forensic science and help to develop new forensic science courses and labs in specialized areas of crime scene investigation, and other related forensic science courses. The selected candidate will also supervise graduate and undergraduate student research. The candidate will be responsible for academic advising of students. The typical teaching load is 4 courses per semester but a one course reduction will be approved for the advising responsibilities.

The Department of Communication at George Mason University is seeking a full-time Academic Advisor to lead and manage its academic advising program, serving approximately 500 Communication majors and minors. This full-time position plays a critical role in promoting student success through individualized academic advising, development of advising programs, and student engagement. This student-centered role is responsible for designing, implementing, assessing, and continuously improving a comprehensive advising structure tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students. The Advisor will also assist students and faculty in understanding George Mason's academic policies and procedures, while actively researching and integrating new applications or technologies that can enhance advising services. This position plays a critical role in supporting student recruitment and retention, promoting timely graduation, and enriching the overall academic experience for Communication students at George Mason. The primary purpose of this position is to lead and manage our undergraduate academic advising program, while also supporting student success through timely, effective, and welcoming one-on-one advising.
