The Associate Athletic Trainer functions as a member of the Elon Sports Medicine Staff that is responsible for the day to day administration of healthcare, under the direction of the Team Physician and the Assistant AD for Sports Medicine, for Elon University student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics. The Associate Athletic Trainer monitors the day to day activity in one of the three athletic training rooms to ensure all modalities and equipment are functioning and assist the Assistant AD of Sports Medicine in the mentorship of Assistant Athletic Trainers. The Associate Athletic Trainer provides injury/illness prevention, immediate care, examination, assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic intervention for student-athletes participating in the intercollegiate athletics program and enforces health care policies and procedures regarding medical insurance, physical examinations, and related activities for student-athletes. The Associate Athletic Trainer follows risk management processes and communicates with parents, coaches, health care professionals, administrators, faculty, and student-athletes. The Associate Athletic Trainer provides health care services specifically to designated assigned sports and in general to all student-athletes. This position would work directly with the baseball program. |

The successful candidate will support the existing BS in Engineering degree and the creation of a new major in Mechanical Engineering. Potential for excellence in teaching lower-level undergraduate engineering courses is essential, as is integrating undergraduate students into a research agenda, advising and mentoring students, and contributing to the growth of the engineering program. Responsibilities include teaching a range of engineering courses as well as non-major courses for Elon’s Core Curriculum. Both an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and a PhD in engineering or related discipline are required. ABD candidates will be considered with completion by starting date. |

Assistant Professor of Performing Arts in Scenic or Lighting Design

Elon College, the College of Arts and Sciences invites application for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Performing Arts, beginning mid-August, 2025.
The Scenic and Lighting Design faculty position will teach three classes per academic year; mentor student designers and technicians; design scenery for 2-3 productions per year and lighting for 4-6 productions per year, alternating departments yearly; and oversee technical areas related to Scenic Painting and Electrics. Since this is a dual position, we plan to alternate duties in the Scenic area and the Lighting area yearly and bring in guest artists to cover other needs. Classes taught by this position may include: Scenic Painting, Lighting Design, Lighting Design for Dance, Drafting and Model Building, Technical Production in Theatre, Advanced Projects (mentorship), and other courses in the discipline or in the Elon Core Curriculum.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage shops, inventories, and undergraduate student workers successfully. The faculty member will manage and participate in production processes like strikes, lighting hang and focus calls, technical rehearsals and production work. The successful candidate will demonstrate the potential for success as a Teacher-Scholar-Mentor at a liberal arts university and will demonstrate enthusiasm and personal work in equity-minded pedagogies and art-making practices. |
