JMU Police Cadets will patrol campus and work special events to ensure the safety and welfare of the JMU community and all visitors to JMU. All Cadets will be under the direct supervision of a cadet supervisor and program coordinator. Cadets will at times perform their duties with a high degree of independence, exercising considerable judgement, tact, and integrity in the completion of their responsibilities.
Academic Unit Head, Geology & Environmental Science	Harrisonburg
James Madison University (JMU) invites applications for the position of Academic Unit Head (AUH) of the Department of Geology & Environmental Science, to begin July 1, 2027. This is a tenure track, 12-month, primarily administrative position at the rank of Professor or Associate Professor, with opportunities to teach, conduct research, and/or lead in their discipline. Application review will begin November 2, 2026, and the position is open until filled. The Department of Geology and Environmental Science at James Madison University offers bachelor’s degrees in Geology and Environmental Earth Science for approximately 110 majors in our multi-track baccalaureate-only program, as well as minors in Geology, Climate Science, and Geophysics. In addition, we support interdisciplinary minors in Environmental Science and Data Analytics and prepare students for Earth Science teaching careers. We also offer a capstone summer field course. Faculty teach within the major and contribute significantly to General Education at JMU. Our students find placement in private sector and public service careers, and graduate studies through a strong network of professional and alumni connections. Our 15 full-time and three adjunct faculty members engage in teaching and research in the areas of Solid Earth Materials and Tectonics; Climate and Ocean Science; Paleobiology, Environmental and Engineering Geology; and Geoscience Education and Geoheritage. Our faculty are supported by two full-time staff members and we have additional support in grant administration, scientific computing, and media design.
Assistant Director, Family Engagement	Harrisonburg
The Office of Family Engagement is responsible for planning and executing programs and projects that strategically engage parents and families of JMU students through institutional support and service. Engagement includes volunteering, event attendance, communication, and giving. The Assistant Director, in collaboration with campus colleagues, will develop and implement leadership annual giving opportunities, college families’ programming and communication initiatives that promote all four aspects of engagement.
Occupational Therapist (Part-Time)	Harrisonburg
Occupational Therapy Clinical Education Services (OTCES) at James Madison University is accepting applications for part-time OT positions in our pediatric outpatient therapy clinic. OTCES employs part-time Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapist Assistants to provide weekly treatment sessions to pediatric clients. As a part-time clinician, your case load will be determined by your availability and client’s schedules. Your schedule may flex from 2 to 29 hours per week, depending on your availability and client availability. These positions are part-time wage positions, with no benefits, and cannot exceed 1,500 hours over the course of a calendar year.
JMU Athletics Ticket Office Student Assistant  - IE	Harrisonburg
The JMU Athletic Ticket Office is seeking motivated and reliable student assistants to join our team. As a student assistant, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service to patrons in person, over the phone, and via email. Responsibilities include processing ticket sales for both phone and in-person transactions, assisting with game day event operations, and performing end-of-day balancing and reconciliation of cash drawers. You will also stay informed on all policies, events, and schedules to ensure efficient and accurate service. Additional duties include supporting crowd control, ticket sellers, and general operations, as well as facilitating pass gate operations for various admissions and complimentary passes. This position requires availability to work during ticketed events, including most home football games, and the ability to perform tasks quickly and accurately.
