The Department of Health Sciences in the College of Health and Behavioral Studies at James Madison University offers a dynamic Bachelor’s of Science in Health Sciences curriculum. The Health Sciences major is designed for students interested in understanding the causes of disease, strategies for promoting wellness and behavior change, and the scientific basis and methodologies for analyzing health concerns for both individuals and populations. Upon degree completion, graduates are prepared for immediate employment in multiple allied health areas or a pathway to graduate studies in a variety of disciplines, including medicine, optometry, pharmacy, nursing, public health, and other professional preparation programs. Lecturer, Computer Information Systems & Business Analytics Department (Two Positions)

The James Madison University College of Business is seeking applicants for two Lecturers in the Department of Computer Information Systems & Business Analytics (CIS & Business Analytics) beginning Fall 2025. Each position is a renewable term appointment (RTA). The teaching load for these positions is 12 credit hours per semester (4/4). These are full-time benefits-eligible, non-tenure track appointments.
The Department of CIS & BSAN is an academic unit of the College of Business and has 25 full-time faculty members, over 600 CIS majors in 3 concentrations (IS, Business Analytics, and Information and Cybersecurity Management), 80 CIS minors, and over 40 BSAN minors and growing. In addition, the department supports the college by providing core business classes in information systems, quantitative methods, business statistics, and operations management. The department places a primary emphasis on its undergraduate programs that include hands-on projects, laboratory exercises, case analyses, and engaging classroom experiences designed to prepare graduates to work independently and in team-oriented environments. The CIS program is accredited by ABET, making the department one of only 10 CIS programs in the nation accredited by both the AACSB and ABET.
The AACSB-accredited College of Business includes nationally ranked undergraduate and graduate programs. The college includes the Center for Entrepreneurship, Center for Professional Selling, Small Business Development Center, Capital Markets Lab, Madison Consulting, and other programs focused on outreach and engagement with the business community. The college has approximately 4,300 students in its AACSB programs and is highly regarded across the JMU campus community. |

JMU Police Cadets will patrol campus and work special events to ensure the safety and welfare of the JMU community and all visitors to JMU. All Cadets will be under the direct supervision of a cadet supervisor and program coordinator. Cadets will at times perform their duties with a high degree of independence, exercising considerable judgement, tact and integrity in the completion of their responsibilities. |
Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) - Data Science

The Department of Mathematics & Statistics at James Madison University invites applications for one tenure-track position in data science at the assistant professor level to begin in August 2025. We are particularly interested in individuals whose research and teaching interests align with core areas of data science, such as data management, machine learning, predictive modeling, artificial intelligence, network analysis and graph theory, and natural language processing. The candidate will have the opportunity to help develop and deliver a data science major and graduate certificate within the department.
James Madison University, located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, is an R2 state research university with an approximate enrollment of 22,000 students.
