Graduate Assistant - Sport & Recreation Leadership (Tony Britt Spotter Charts, LLC) - Two postions Harrisonburg
The Sport and Recreation Leadership master’s degree program invites applications for a 20 hour/week graduate assistantship working with Tony Britt Spotter Charts, LLC for academic year 2026-2027. Since 2020, Tony Britt Spotter Charts LLC has partnered with the James Madison University Sport and Recreation Leadership Master’s degree program to offer this graduate assistant position. This is a unique experience where students gain professional experience in sports information, technology and logistics while attending classes. This business, located in Harrisonburg,VA, helps nearly 400 of America’s top sportscasters at 23 NFL teams, 68 CFB teams, CBS, ESPN, FOX, NBC & NFL Network as well as most TV, radio & streaming networks. Visiting Lecturer - Department of Engineering Harrisonburg
The Department of Engineering at James Madison University (JMU) invites applicants to join our community and support our project-intensive undergraduate engineering curriculum. We are seeking to hire at least one Visiting Lecturer to start in August 2026. The position will be for an initial ten-month period; there may be the possibility of a subsequent one-time renewal. The JMU Department of Engineering is a community of educators committed to contributing to a welcoming scholarly environment, who support each other in achieving broad success in teaching, scholarship, and service. The department offers an ABET-accredited BS degree in engineering with new concentrations in civil and environmental, geo-environmental, and electromechanical systems. Anchored in the liberal arts through the university’s general education program, JMU’s engineering major is characterized by experiential learning of engineering in team-based settings, and the major culminates in a two-year-long engineering project experience. The department currently has fifteen tenured or tenure-track faculty members representing multiple engineering disciplines, seven support staff, and approximately 750 students. Its strengths include dedicated faculty and staff, an engaged and invested student body and alumni, strong administrative and lab support, and well-equipped laboratories and design studios. JMU prizes collaboration among departments and provides unique opportunities for interdisciplinary, team-based teaching and scholarship, with a strong focus on undergraduate research opportunities. Wage Lead Teacher - Young Children's Program (Part-time, Multiple Positions) Harrisonburg
The teachers will work with other staff members to provide an optimal learning environment for young children. These positions will be responsible for ensuring the physical, social, cognitive and educational needs of young learners are met. Positions will work a total of 1500 hours and will not exceed the allotted amount. (Shifts are 7am-3pm or 9am-5:30pm.)
Tenure-Track Faculty Position - Applied Biotechnology Harrisonburg
We invite applications for a tenure-track or renewable term appointment position in Applied Biotechnology, at the Assistant Professor rank, to begin August 2026. Exceptional candidates may also be considered for the rank of Associate Professor. The successful candidate will primarily support the Integrated Science and Technology (ISAT) Applied Biotechnology concentration and work cooperatively across the School of Integrated Sciences (SIS). Other undergraduate programs in the school include Geography and Intelligence Analysis. The ISAT Program is an ABET-accredited, multidisciplinary, applied science program with roughly 300 undergraduate students and an international Master’s Program focused on environmental management and sustainability. ISAT also contributes to the cross-college JMU B.S. in Biotechnology Program, in partnership with the Departments of Biology and Chemistry & Biochemistry. ISAT graduates are versatile problem-solvers who apply the principles of STEM and systems thinking to design and actualize socially responsible solutions to complex issues. Students declare concentrations in one of six areas: Applied Biotechnology, Applied Computing, Energy, Environment & Sustainability, Industrial & Manufacturing Systems, or Public Interest Technology & Science. Faculty share a commitment to true integration and leveraging their unique strengths for impactful and socially engaged STEM education and scholarship.
