Event Assistant for Program Registration (Part - Time) Harrisonburg
The Office of Student Life at James Madison University is currently seeking applicants for a part-time position in the Event Management team. This position will help in developing, implementing, and supporting the Program Registration process for recognized student organizations and managing the JMU Campus Master Calendar through the Event Management Software. This position serves as a campus security authority under the Jean Cleary Campus Safety Act. About the Department: The Department of Management is an academic unit within the College of Business, comprising 22 full-time faculty members. The department has over 800 management majors in three concentrations (Management Consulting, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Human Resource Management), and the department supports the college by providing core business classes in Strategic Management, Interpersonal Skills, and Principles of Management. Departmental faculty members closely collaborate with the Gilliam Center for Entrepreneurship. The department places primary emphasis on its undergraduate programs that include engaging classroom experiences, business case studies, hands-on projects, and laboratory exercises designed to prepare graduates to work independently and in team-oriented environments. Technical and Operations Fellowships - Forbes Center for the Performing Arts Harrisonburg
Technical and Operations Fellowships at the Forbes Center for the Performing Arts at James Madison University provide advanced, hands-on training in theatre production and stage management, as well as opportunities to operate state-of-the-art audio, lighting and video systems. The Fellowship begins September 1, 2025 and runs through May 10th, 2026. Fellowships require a season-long commitment. The Fellow will receive a stipend total of $17,225 for the 36 week contract, which will be paid in increments bi-weekly. The Fellow will not work more than 40 hours per week, but will average 29 hours per week across the length of the contract. Housing and benefits are not included.
Head of Research & Engagement - Libraries Harrisonburg
JMU Libraries seeks an enthusiastic and innovative leader for the new position of Head of Research & Engagement (R&E) in the Digital Scholarship & Distinctive Collections department (DSDC). This position is a full-time, twelve-month, tenure-track position with instructional faculty status at JMU. We anticipate hiring at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position will join the collaborative DSDC leadership team and report to the DSDC director. DSDC stewards rare books, manuscripts, and archives; supports digital scholarship methods in teaching, learning, and research; and preserves general and distinctive collections at JMU. The position will lead a team responsible for the department’s research services, collection circulation, instruction, outreach, events, and physical exhibits. R&E responsibilities include managing a public service desk, reading room, and classroom in the renovated and expanded Carrier Library, opening Fall 2026. The Head of R&E will embrace exciting growth potential in DSDC’s services, especially in the R&E portfolio. In addition to supervising 2 full-time employees and shaping R&E’s services, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage with JMU faculty, staff, students, and the local community. The Head of R&E will share responsibility with colleagues for designing and delivering instruction, developing public events, curating exhibits, providing reference services, and participating in outreach and communications.
