The Department of Management in the College of Business at James Madison University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Management position to begin in Fall 2026. This is a fixed term appointment for one year. About the Department: The Department of Management is an academic unit within the College of Business, comprising 22 full-time faculty members. The department has over 800 management majors in three concentrations (Management Consulting, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Human Resource Management), and the department supports the college by providing core business classes in Strategic Management, Interpersonal Skills, and Principles of Management. Departmental faculty members closely collaborate with the Gilliam Center for Entrepreneurship. The department places primary emphasis on its undergraduate programs that include engaging classroom experiences, business case studies, hands-on projects, and laboratory exercises designed to prepare graduates to work independently and in team-oriented environments. In addition to their high involvement in undergraduate education, departmental faculty members play a vital role in delivering the Executive Leadership MBA, Innovation MBA, and Information Security MBA programs. Outside the academic community, faculty members maintain strong connections with the business community in Shenandoah Valley, Northern Virginia, Richmond, and Washington, D.C., and interact regularly with members of the department’s advisory board.

High-Performance Computing System & Server Administrator, College of Science and Mathematics Harrisonburg
The College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) is seeking a full-time High-Performance Computing (HPC) System and Server Administrator to support primarily Linux-based research computing environments. The CSM has a wide range of computational needs, with faculty spread across five departments, including new, interdisciplinary data science programs, which add to the variety of the college's HPC requirements. This position represents an opportunity to manage existing on-premises server and computational infrastructure to support current and future efforts related to servers and HPC. CSM server and storage resource management and maintenance would be in collaboration with JMU’s central IT; HPC duties would be in collaboration with JMU’s central IT and an external vendor. The JMU College of Science and Mathematics High Performance Computing cluster is a relatively new Linux cluster built on RHEL, managed by Bright Cluster Manager and leverages the SLURM workload manager. It consists of approximately 20 nodes, including both CPU and NVIDIA GPU nodes. Additionally, The CSM maintains enterprise computing infrastructure consisting of 20+ servers/devices. This includes various storage devices (TrueNAS, Synology), web servers and Windows file/print/terminal servers.

Interns will give campus tours to prospective students and their families. They will help in the day-to-day workings of the visitation program giving virtual panels and daily tours, front desk support, and outreach to admitted and prospective students. Interns will work up to 20 hours per week. Tours are given in both morning and afternoon (May-Aug.) on Monday-Friday.
