The Academic Success Program (ASP) is an intervention developed to assist JMU students on academic suspension or academic probation in employing the academic strategies and personal motivation needed to succeed at JMU. The workshop sessions focus on topics such as time management, motivation, studying, self-care, and campus resources. Topics will be delivered through discussion and exploration of the actions, strategies, and skills for immediate utilization.
Student Assistant VPSA - IE Harrisonburg
The Student Assistant to the Vice President’s Office for Student Affairs is an integral part of the Student Affairs Office team and supports efforts to strengthen connections between Student Affairs and the student body. This position assists with coordinating the Vice President for Student Affairs’ student engagement schedule, supporting the Student Advisory Board, and maintaining engagement tracking and audits. Working closely with the Vice President for Student Affairs Engagement Fellow and the Student Affairs team, the student assistant contributes to engagement strategy and helps improve communication between the Student Affairs Office and students. This role also provides administrative support and assists with projects and initiatives across the office. This position is an excellent opportunity for students interested in higher education, leadership, and student engagement to gain hands-on experience working with Student Affairs administrators while contributing to meaningful campus initiatives.

University Advising’s well-respected Madison Advising Peers (MAP) program consists of undergraduate peer advisors who are trained to provide supplemental academic advising for JMU students in conjunction with faculty and full-time academic advisors. Camp Staff Member (PDHICP) - IE Harrisonburg
The position is responsible for supporting the development of diverse middle and high school students' interests and potential for working in healthcare fields and professions through the implementation of a summer camp curriculum. An ability to model inclusive and nondiscriminatory practices in all activities is required. Through collaboration with the project team, health professionals, school officials, community members, and community professionals, the position assists youth in learning about healthcare positions. Camp staff are responsible for supervising and guiding camp participants to ensure their safety, engagement, and enjoyment during camp activities.
James Madison University Presidential Engagement Fellows Program Harrisonburg
The Office of the President is pleased to announce recruitment for the 2026-2027 Presidential Engagement Fellows Program. The Presidential Engagement Fellows Program is a 10-month fellowship focused on leadership development for recent JMU graduates (undergraduate or graduate). Fellows receive a stipend of $14,813 to be paid out over 10 months and an additional housing stipend of $500 a month. Fellows are placed within JMU offices where they contribute to projects and programs critical to the university’s mission, vision and values. Teaching Post Doctoral Associate (Two Positions) - Department of Engineering Harrisonburg
The Department of Engineering at James Madison University (JMU) invites applications for two teaching post-doctoral associates. This opportunity combines instructional experience, mentorship, and professional development to enable candidates to develop their pedagogical skills and a robust scholarship program in an undergraduate engineering context. Post-doctoral associates will teach within the Engineering curriculum while receiving individual mentorship from JMU faculty and will be provided opportunities to develop their own professional portfolio. This is a fixed-term appointment at the rank of instructor. The appointment is for two 10-month periods, the first 10-month period will start August 10th, 2026, and the second 10-month period will start in August 2027. In the first period, associates will teach within the engineering fundamentals and design courses (ENGR 112, 231, and 232) and will work with an instructional team to enhance their instructional approaches and methods. In the second 10-month period, associates will have the opportunity to expand their experiences through opportunities such as: teaching upper-level courses, developing special topics courses, supervising undergraduate research or mentoring capstone projects. The specifics will be tailored to the individual and needs of the department, in consultation with the Academic Unit Head and their mentors.

Visiting Lecturer - Department of Engineering Harrisonburg
The Department of Engineering at James Madison University (JMU) invites applicants to join our community and support our project-intensive undergraduate engineering curriculum. We are seeking to hire at least one Visiting Lecturer to start in August 2026. The position will be for an initial ten-month period; there may be the possibility of a subsequent one-time renewal. The JMU Department of Engineering is a community of educators committed to contributing to a welcoming scholarly environment, who support each other in achieving broad success in teaching, scholarship, and service. The department offers an ABET-accredited BS degree in engineering with new concentrations in civil and environmental, geo-environmental, and electromechanical systems. Anchored in the liberal arts through the university’s general education program, JMU’s engineering major is characterized by experiential learning of engineering in team-based settings, and the major culminates in a two-year-long engineering project experience. The department currently has fifteen tenured or tenure-track faculty members representing multiple engineering disciplines, seven support staff, and approximately 750 students. Wage Lead Teacher - Young Children's Program (Part-time, Multiple Positions) Harrisonburg

Tenure-Track Faculty Position - Applied Biotechnology Harrisonburg
We invite applications for a tenure-track or renewable term appointment position in Applied Biotechnology, at the Assistant Professor rank, to begin August 2026. Exceptional candidates may also be considered for the rank of Associate Professor. The successful candidate will primarily support the Integrated Science and Technology (ISAT) Applied Biotechnology concentration and work cooperatively across the School of Integrated Sciences (SIS). Other undergraduate programs in the school include Geography and Intelligence Analysis. The ISAT Program is an ABET-accredited, multidisciplinary, applied science program with roughly 300 undergraduate students and an international Master’s Program focused on environmental management and sustainability. Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor – Department of Computer Science Harrisonburg
The Department of Computer Science at James Madison University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor to begin August 2026. We are committed to cultivating a welcoming environment for our faculty, staff, and students, and we value candidates who will be both impactful teachers and impactful scholars. Preference will be given to applicants at the Assistant Professor level. Exceptional candidates at the Associate Professor level will also be considered. The JMU CS department is a vibrant and supportive community with 33 full-time faculty members teaching in the Computer Science and Information Technology programs. The Computer Science program has approximately 700 undergraduate majors and 60 minors, as well as an online M.S. Degree in Cybersecurity with approximately 60 students.
