The School of Music seeks an innovative, forward thinking, and collaborative colleague to teach and establish a comprehensive music technology program which situates existing and developing technologies within fields of music (e.g., composition, education, performance, theory, etc.). Successful candidates will demonstrate strong musicianship within their medium and have broad expertise within a variety of established and emerging technologies. This position is a full-time, 10-month renewable term appointment (non-tenure track) at the rank of Lecturer beginning in August 2027.

This 12-month administrative appointment offers an exciting opportunity to lead one of the region’s premier performing arts venues and to contribute to the vibrant cultural life of the university and the Shenandoah Valley. The Forbes Center serves as a dynamic hub for world-class performances, student and faculty productions, and community outreach, ensuring that the arts remain vital, relevant, and accessible to all. About the Forbes Center Opened in 2010, the Forbes Center for the Performing Arts is a state-of-the-art facility that hosts hundreds of performances annually, including internationally acclaimed artists, faculty and student productions, and educational programs. In 2025, the Forbes Center celebrated its 15th Anniversary Masterpiece Season, marking a decade and a half of artistic excellence and cultural leadership in the Shenandoah Valley. The Center features five performance venues and serves as a bridge between the university and the community, fostering cultural enrichment and engagement through programming, masterclasses, and outreach initiatives such as Any Given Child and Forbes Family Fun.
Philanthropic Communications and Content Intern - IE	Harrisonburg
JMU's Philanthropic Communications team is looking for a curious, relationship-driven Langridge Fellow to join us for the 2026-27 academic year. In this year-long role, You’ll serve as a liaison to our partner, Valley Scholars, by: helping build a framework for lasting community among their students and alumni; writing stories that inspire giving to the program; and keeping their giving websites up to date. In the spring, you'll support Family Business Symposium, one of Principal Giving's signature donor events. You will gain hands-on experience building systems for alumni engagement through social media and newsletters, maintaining accurate donor records in Salesforce, and supporting high-touch events, all while developing professional skills through close mentorship and structured supervision. Hours: This student position is 10-15 hours per week. Between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, during the semester. (We will determine your work schedule based on your availability.) This is a year-long commitment for the 2026-27 academic year, starting October 2026. Work Location: In person, at Sonner Hall (next to Business school) Compensation: $16.50/hour Reports to: Arushi Sachan, Associate Director of Campaign Communications & Content Strategy
