JMU seeks a seasoned and successful fundraiser to join the Principal Giving team in University Advancement as Senior Philanthropic Advisor. The Senior Philanthropic Advisor will play a critical role in building transformative relationships and securing principal-level gifts from a growing donor pool. The Principal Giving team collectively has a critical impact on JMU’s next ambitious campaign which will significantly advance JMU’s strategic priorities and the success of our students, faculty and campus environment. The successful candidate will have a passion for facilitating impactful philanthropy with individuals and families and will have the knowledge and tools to open and close conversations involving gifts of $1M+. A natural affinity for collaboration with colleagues to serve the best interests of JMU and the donors is also a key attribute. JMU’s star continues to rise. Having recently moved to the Sun Belt Conference and into a higher research classification by the Carnegie Commission, JMU went from regional to national rankings. Applications to JMU are up 70 percent in the last three years. JMU’s successful Unleashed campaign exceeded the stretch goal by 25 percent, finishing at over $250M. We are now planning and staffing for a next, more ambitious campaign. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in JMU’s rise. The Senior Philanthropic Advisor reports to the Assistant Vice President for Principal Giving in University Advancement. The Senior Philanthropic Advisor is a senior member of the Principal Giving team and also serves as an experienced, creative and strategic thought partner with colleagues across University Advancement, with an eye towards sharing and developing best practices with fellow Director-level colleagues and moving gifts and/or prospective donors through a successful donor development cycle.

James Madison University (JMU) School of Nursing invites applications for a Renewable Term Appointment (RTA), 10-month full-time appointment at the rank of Lecturer that will begin in December 2024 or August 2025 (negotiable). The School of Nursing (SON) offers CCNE accredited Baccalaureate, Master’s, and Doctorate of Nursing Practice programs. The responsibilities of this position will focus on undergraduate nursing program needs in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings, service, and scholarship. A Graduate Degree in Nursing is required. Three years of recent relevant practice and/or teaching experience is preferred. Experience with adult and/or geriatric populations in acute and/or subacute care is required.
