Tenure-Track Assistant Professor - Fast Flex BSN (Two Positions) Harrisonburg
James Madison University (JMU) School of Nursing invites applications for two 12-month, full-time faculty appointments beginning either April 1, 2026 or May 1, 2026. The School of Nursing offers CCNE-accredited Baccalaureate, Master’s, and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs. These positions will primarily support the Fast Flex BSN, a new initiative designed to operate during evenings and weekends. This is an opportunity to help develop and implement of a new innovative approach to baccalaureate nursing education. James Madison University (JMU) School of Nursing invites applications for a 12-month, full-time tenure-track faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning January 1, 2026. This position will support the new Fast Flex BSN, starting in Summer 2026. The School of Nursing offers CCNE-accredited Baccalaureate, Master’s, and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs. In addition to teaching responsibilities this position will oversee the operations of the Fast Flex BSN, a new initiative operating during evenings and weekends. This is an opportunity to be the inaugural Coordinator of a new innovative approach to baccalaureate nursing education. Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor – Department of Computer Science Harrisonburg
The Department of Computer Science at James Madison University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor to begin August 2026. We are committed to cultivating a welcoming environment for our faculty, staff, and students, and we value candidates who will be both impactful teachers and impactful scholars. Preference will be given to applicants at the Assistant Professor level. Exceptional candidates at the Associate Professor level will also be considered. The JMU CS department is a vibrant and supportive community with 33 full-time faculty members teaching in the Computer Science and Information Technology programs. The Computer Science program has approximately 700 undergraduate majors and 60 minors, as well as an online M.S. Degree in Cybersecurity with approximately 60 students. The IT program has approximately 250 majors. We are dedicated to supporting a culture that balances excellence in teaching, small class sizes, and opportunities for faculty and student research. The department sponsors many active clubs and organizations including Women in Technology, Robotics, Cyber Defense, and a student ACM chapter. We have an outstanding undergraduate Teaching Assistant program that helps novice students feel welcomed and supported regardless of their prior experience. Our students are actively involved outside the university as well, taking part in ACM SIGSCE, regional and national cyber defense competitions, programming competitions, the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing, and the Richard Tapia Celebration of Diversity in Computing. Tenure-Track Assistant Professor: Physical Geography Harrisonburg
We invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Physical Geography within the School of Integrated Sciences (SIS) and its thriving Geography program starting August 2026. SIS supports innovative and dynamic academic careers for 40 faculty rooted in our constituent undergraduate programs--Geography, Integrated Science and Technology (ISAT), and Intelligence Analysis--along with growing graduate programs. SIS is a vibrant, welcoming, and supportive culture embracing innovation, collaboration, and student engagement. This is a compelling area for leadership in the discipline and our own school: We are an academic community that prioritizes imaginative, boundary-crossing geographical scholarship, often with a problem-centric focus. We integrate science, technology, and the human dimension into engagement with critical environmental challenges. Recognized with the national AAG Award for Bachelor Program Excellence, our Geography Program within SIS serves around 200 majors and 90 minors. Students value our core strengths across the discipline in physical, human, and nature-society geography along with geospatial technologies. Our well-resourced labs support faculty research, and students gaining expertise in physical geographical techniques as well as the latest geospatial tools. Assistant Teacher - Young Children's Program (Part-Time, Multiple Positions) Harrisonburg
The Assistant Teachers will work with other staff members to provide an optimal learning environment for young children. These positions will be responsible for ensuring the physical, social, cognitive and educational needs of young learners are met.
