James Madison University (JMU) School of Nursing invites applications for a Renewable Term Appointment (RTA), 10-month full-time appointment at the rank of Lecturer that will begin in December 2024 or August 2025 (negotiable). The School of Nursing (SON) offers CCNE accredited Baccalaureate, Master’s, and Doctorate of Nursing Practice programs. The responsibilities of this position will focus on undergraduate nursing program needs in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings, service, and scholarship. A Graduate Degree in Nursing is required. Three years of recent relevant practice and/or teaching experience is preferred. Experience with adult and/or geriatric populations in acute and/or subacute care is required.

Instructors will deliver course instruction in person at regional clinical sites and in person on campus at James Madison University. Topics may include fundamentals, medical-surgical, women’s health, psychiatric mental health, pediatrics, and community nursing. Available sections to teach during fall and spring semesters will vary based on enrollment needs, and instructor pay will be based on enrollment numbers. The academic semester begins two weeks prior to the first day of classes each semester. |
