The Department of Computer Science (CS) at JMU is accepting applications for an Office Services Specialist. This position provides administrative support to the department head and faculty; completes student employment paperwork, submits timesheets and maintains student employment records; event preparation; gathers data for departmental reports; purchases and maintain inventory of supplies; supports the CS graduate program including student registration and communication with the Graduate School. Shared responsibilities with the CS Office Manager including entering class schedules, course permissions, and room scheduling. This role also assists with other duties as needed.

The Department of Management in the College of Business at James Madison University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Management position to begin in Fall 2026. Advanced assistant professors are also encouraged to apply. The primary teaching responsibilities will be teaching undergraduate courses in Strategic Management and/or Management Consulting. About the Department: The Department of Management is an academic unit within the College of Business, comprising 22 full-time faculty members. The department has over 800 management majors in three concentrations (Management Consulting, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Human Resource Management), and the department supports the college by providing core business classes in Strategic Management, Interpersonal Skills, and Principles of Management. Departmental faculty members closely collaborate with the Gilliam Center for Entrepreneurship. The department places primary emphasis on its undergraduate programs that include engaging classroom experiences, business case studies, hands-on projects, and laboratory exercises designed to prepare graduates to work independently and in team-oriented environments. In addition to their high involvement in undergraduate education, departmental faculty members play a vital role in delivering the Executive Leadership MBA, Innovation MBA, and Information Security MBA programs. Outside the academic community, faculty members maintain strong connections with the business community in Shenandoah Valley, Northern Virginia, Richmond, and Washington, D.C., and interact regularly with members of the department’s advisory board.
Technical and Operations Fellowships - Forbes Center for the Performing Arts Harrisonburg
Technical and Operations Fellowships at the Forbes Center for the Performing Arts at James Madison University provide advanced, hands-on training in theatre production and stage management, as well as opportunities to operate state-of-the-art audio, lighting and video systems. The Fellowship begins September 1, 2025 and runs through May 10th, 2026. Fellowships require a season-long commitment. The Fellow will receive a stipend total of $17,225 for the 36 week contract, which will be paid in increments bi-weekly. The Fellow will not work more than 40 hours per week, but will average 29 hours per week across the length of the contract. Housing and benefits are not included.
Head of Research & Engagement - Libraries Harrisonburg
JMU Libraries seeks an enthusiastic and innovative leader for the new position of Head of Research & Engagement (R&E) in the Digital Scholarship & Distinctive Collections department (DSDC). This position is a full-time, twelve-month, tenure-track position with instructional faculty status at JMU. We anticipate hiring at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position will join the collaborative DSDC leadership team and report to the DSDC director. DSDC stewards rare books, manuscripts, and archives; supports digital scholarship methods in teaching, learning, and research; and preserves general and distinctive collections at JMU. The position will lead a team responsible for the department’s research services, collection circulation, instruction, outreach, events, and physical exhibits. R&E responsibilities include managing a public service desk, reading room, and classroom in the renovated and expanded Carrier Library, opening Fall 2026. The Head of R&E will embrace exciting growth potential in DSDC’s services, especially in the R&E portfolio. In addition to supervising 2 full-time employees and shaping R&E’s services, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage with JMU faculty, staff, students, and the local community. The Head of R&E will share responsibility with colleagues for designing and delivering instruction, developing public events, curating exhibits, providing reference services, and participating in outreach and communications. Director of Access & User Services - Libraries Harrisonburg
JMU Libraries is accepting applications for Director of Access & User Services (AUS). AUS is a newly reorganized department comprised of three experienced teams-- Access & Delivery, Library & Information Services, and the Music Library. We are looking for a leader interested in developing a shared vision for the department, as well as leading and shaping services that meet the evolving needs of our organization and users. The AUS department is responsible for facilitating access to collections, learning spaces, and connection to additional Libraries services and experts. These services operate across four locations: Rose Library, JMU Libraries Express, the Music Library, the Hub, and an off-campus storage facility. The AUS department staffs our Ask the Library service points (in-person and virtual). The Director will be instrumental in developing AUS operations in the newly renovated Carrier Library (opening in Fall 2026) and supporting the broader changes in Libraries services across all of our locations. The position is a full-time, twelve-month, tenure-track position with instructional faculty status. We anticipate hiring at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The successful candidate will report to the Associate Dean for Academic Engagement (AE). Assistant Athletic Trainer Harrisonburg
James Madison University, a Division I Member of the NCAA and Sun Belt Conference, is seeking an Athletic Trainer. The position will serve as the Athletics Trainer and is a full-time, 12-month position will a full comprehensive benefits package. The anticipated start date is upon first availability. The Athletic Trainer will work under the supervision of the Associate AD for Integrated Health and Sports Performance/Director of Sports Medicine, Associate Director of Sports Medicine, JMU Team Physicians and will perform athletic training duties that help ensure the health and safety of the student-athletes. The selected candidate will be expected to maintain a high level of communication, outstanding interpersonal skills, and professionalism as a member of the JMU Sports Medicine Staff. The ability to wok and function as a member of the health care team is essential. This candidate will also serve as a clinical preceptor for JMU's athletics training students.
